I'm not one for New Years resolutions normally, the standard "I'm going to lose weight" or "I'm going to stop drinking" shit really annoys me. People stick to their resolutions for a couple of months and then the novelty wears off. They're not getting praised for only having one chocolate bar a day instead of two, or no one tells them off for sneaking a packet of crisps in-between meals and then as if the resolution was never set, they slip back into their old ways.
Anyway, rant over. So as I was saying, I am not one to make resolutions but this year I thought I would try something, not a resolution as such but more of a challenge to myself. I constantly use the excuse of 'I don't have time' when it comes to things when as a matter of fact, I just can't be arsed. So my challenge to myself from now on is simple: To learn/do more.
Wether it be, go to a new exhibition, see more theatre, read more books or brush up on my knowledge of geography (which is in drastic need of attention) then that is what I shall do.
Now that I've got that out of the way. I have had a pretty eventful weekend this weekend. I went to two exhibitions: "Landscape Photographer of the Year" and "Frontline: A Year of Journalism and Conflict". Both were really good and in places I have never been before (The National Theatre and Somerset House). I recommend anyone to go and see them as they are FREE, so you have no excuse (especially not 'I don't have time").
